Penny Farthing Espresso

Cafe$$

This is a northside coffee mecca. Owners Trevor and Steve Simmons (who also own Industry Beans) offer a superior house blend along with limited release single origins sourced internationally from regions, estates and micro-lots. A long black single origin from Aceh, Sumatra, is full-bodied, clean, rich with magnificent honey-like sweetness and tinges of nectarine. A pretty latticed courtyard out back provides for languid breakfasts, and Farthing's menu sports creative flair and finesse: think poached eggs with a rich, sticky fig, caramelised onion and bacon chutney.
