With around 100 different dishes to choose from (not counting specials), first timers at this popular Malaysian street food hangout may well find themselves in a quandary. Regulars already know that they’re going to have the dark, sticky Marmite pork ribs, or the Malaysian fish and preserved vegetable congee, or the special nasi lemak of beef curry, rice, boiled egg and ikan bilis. The hawker-style egg noodles with roast chicken is the signature dish, but ask for meat on the bone instead of breast – much more interesting. Water is PYO (pour your own), service is pragmatic, and the vibe is very much eat-and-run.
