Piano Piano

The first in a trio of lively haunts that sprang up around Brunswick's Triple R studios, this little cafe has an unpretentious, jovial vibe, with regulars perching at the counter for a chat over their eggs and coffee. With fewer than 20 seats, it's not the venue for your extended family get-together. But Grandpa would feel right at home over a 'nonna melt' (basil, mozzarella and tomato sugo on sourdough) or a spaghetti jaffle, while the retro B&W telly flickers in the corner. The coffee could blow his slippers off, though, with its pungent, fruity notes and nutty finish.
