As the trio of grinders standing next to the trusty espresso machine will attest, owner Hesham El Masry takes his coffee seriously. So seriously, he sources his special Plunge 46 blend from Marrickville's Hazel de los Reyes of Coffee Alchemy, producing a rich, heady, earthy brew ($3.50). Sit out front, find a perch inside, or move out to the back courtyard. The food leans towards the Middle East, so breakfast could be zucchini fritters with red capsicum, poached eggs and za'atar; lunch, a lamb burger with pickled cucumber; or dinner, a red snapper tagine with raisin and apricot couscous.
