Cafe$$

Head for the Hills to this hot new specialty coffee roastery in a long, skinny oesophagus of a space that goes from street right through to laneway. Russell Beard sold The Source in Mosman to build his dream home with Nathan Borg: Probat and Giesen roasters above, Speedster and Mirage espresso machines below. Megan McCulloch's food is inspired by the same countries the beans come from; hence the Honduran baleados - tortilla filled with warm black beans, eggs and cheese - which has great synergy with the beautifully balanced bittersweetness of the house espresso ($4). And yes, there is a Reuben sandwich. If you're on a coffee 'journey', here's your destination: Russell Beard and Nathan Borg's swish new roaster/cafe/specialty brew lab with a fab coffee origin-inspired menu and a real desire to educate.
