Royal Hotel Bar and Grill

12.5/20

$$

Some things never change. Had the lemon and cracked pepper basa fillets last year as well. Still the same, still tasty, still good value with the small mountain-slide of accompanying al dente vegies. A chicken, bacon and prawn salad, chosen from an enormous menu almost bigger than the pub, is pretty decent, too. You can sit in the somewhat uninspiring, cafe-style eating area out the back (great if you have kids) but the front bar is the go with its boar's head and local club sporting memorabilia on the walls. The Royal is good, unpretentious and unchanging. And so is its food.
