Saigon Tiger by Ho Tang

Vietnamese$$

It’s Vietnam with a twist at this modest eatery, from the fresh take on Vietnamese food to the busy-intersection view. Cook and co-owner Ho Tang takes his cues from the food philosophy of District 4, a working class neighbourhood in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) that was once home. District 4 hits such as eat-on-the-run lemongrass and chilli chicken skewers feature alongside flavour-packed betel leaf topped with seared beef and coconut-lime satay sauce, wholesome pho, barbecued sweet soy beef with crisp and crunchy herb salad, and sticky-sweet tamarind and whiskey pork. The menu changes regularly, and service is swift and polite.
