Japanese$$

There's something oh-so-Japanese about a restaurant with more varieties of bento than seats in which to enjoy them, but this tiny venue punches above its weight. Try your lunchbox with spicy soft-shell crab, or chow on prawn-filled gyoza twice the size you'd normally expect. Some of the fare is simple - yasai itame features fresh vegetables in a salty soy broth - while others offer twists on the familiar, such as nasu dengaku (eggplant with sweet miso) with a thin tempura glaze, or okonomiyaki with bacon and cheese. Despite the basic fitout a steady stream of customers keeps coming back for more.
