Sea Bay

Just outside Burwood’s main shopping precinct, this humble eatery inspires deja vu in fans of the Sea Bay in Sydney’s CBD. Though they’re not connected, the similarities extend from the name to the no-fuss tiled interior and menu of northern Chinese specialities. Food is served quick-smart, including terrific pan-fried dumplings - perfect dipped in a DIY mix of chilli and vinegar - and grease-free salt-and-pepper pork chops. Hand-stretched noodles with cumin lamb and shredded cucumber are pleasantly chewy and slurpable, while wok-seared bean sprouts with Chinese chives are lively with crunch and wok flavour. It’s so good you’ll soon be seeking deja vu all over again.
