The massive catering kitchens of this waterside function space may mostly focus on weddings, conferences and more weddings, but there's a little room to show off the Signorelli family's other love - good, old-fashioned Italian cucina, pizza, pasta and great, deli-focused antipasto spreads. Squirreled away inside the lower depths of the Pyrmont office block that also houses Doltone House (the main game) is an atmospheric fine food store, complete with cheese room, salumi cabinets, take-home pasta dishes and a small dining area. Under the watchful eye of seasoned exec chef James Kidman (ex-Otto, Dieci e Mezzo), tuck into a generous bowl of house-made pappardelle with rabbit ragu and a touch of lemon thyme or fresh spaghettini flipped with eggplant, pinenuts and sultanas. Pizza does justice to the stone oven, especially when draped with just-sliced prosciutto or speck with rocket and parmesan, or runny scamorza cheese and zucchini. Secondi focus on pork belly, beef fillet or short rib and seafood of the day.
