Contemporary

The cool set has invaded Alexandria, and they're enjoying the space. This is not some cramped inner-city nook, but a sprawling wood-panelled room where you can really swing a baguette. The Sonoma miche sourdough may be the best thing that's happened to bread in Sydney, and elsewhere on the menu, things are kept simple. A poached egg here, some homemade baked beans there, maybe a rare roast beef sandwich with wild mushrooms, mozzarella and pesto between two slices of Sonoma's finest to go. Alexandria's going up in the cafe world, with recent additions setting a high benchmark. This is no exception.
