Tapas

This lively tapas bar recently underwent a marvellous make-under: the retrofit includes 1950s furnishings, walls clad in vintage comic books and grungy graffiti art. The menu has also had a revamp and chef Clare Mitchell has given the food a real lift. The bar is consistently packed with cheery gangs of locals meeting for a few small bites. Try the seared scallops topped with salty pancetta, fennel and kale, or a filling plate of crisp chat potatoes with paprika, sour cream and chives. There’s nothing complicated about chicken skewers or meatballs with a piquant sauce, but both dishes are full of flavour.
