Sushi Bar Hiro

Japanese$$

To have all tables full and buzzing on the fiercely competitive King Georges Road restaurant strip is no mean feat. But it’s easy to see where the appeal lies. Fans return for the super fresh sashimi, the fun make-your-own sushi menu, the excellent value and helpful staff with a terrific can-do attitude to customer requests. Regular seafood specials include kane age (deep-fried soft-shell crab with tempura sauce), shirasu age (deep-fried whitebait with ponzu sauce), while agedashi tofu is a highlight. The drab interior fit-out definitely isn’t the reason this place rocks, so make sure to book on weekends for a taste of why it does.
