Tany’s Japanese

Japanese$$

Sylvania’s loss is Redfern’s gain, as the crew from Masa relocate and rename. Their modus operandi remains the same; high-quality ingredients, masterfully prepared and served with friendly good humour and cute presentation. Super fresh edamame is always a good sign, and the rest of the menu follows suit; highlights include the sushi and sashimi, sweetly decadent miso eggplant and top-notch gyoza. The ever-evolving specials board is easily overlooked by newbies, but always contains interesting diversions; steamed mussels in sake soup, perhaps. Irony-free and great value, Tany’s is a welcome addition to Redfern’s culinary arsenal.
