This pub is in a jaw-dropping gorgeous building with soaring ceilings, art on the walls and a great sense of space. There are two dining options: the ground floor bar area and a fancier affair upstairs. The downstairs menu is small but intelligently compact with burgers, pasta, chicken, fish and steak. The wagyu beef burger was delicious, with a perfectly cooked patty (nicely seared on the outside but not overdone inside) with a perky onion jam, a toasted bun and the most excellent shoestring fries and fresh salad of fancy leaves. The beef pie was of a similar standard with a tasty and rich filling.
