Have your say
The city outpost of Gertrude Street's Anada has a restaurant on the ground floor and an excellent, sky-high bar on five. Step out of the lift through a curtained doorway and the copper-topped bar is straight ahead, backed by windows that drink in the cityscape. A small terrace allows stunning views down the spine of Lonsdale. The Aylesbury boasts a wide-ranging wine list, impressive cocktails (the Paper Plane powerfully blends bourbon, Campari, Montenegro and lemon juice) and great craft beers, including Stone & Wood's Pacific Ale. Best of all, there are snacks prepared before your eyes. Just remember to pack the credit card. Five floors up, with brilliant city views and its own little kitchen, the Aylesbury dishes up salty, tasty bar snacks - think deep-fried padron peppers or morcilla and broad beans - that keep the private penthouse mood coming.
This penthouse bar and terrace, surrounded by city towers, is a sophisticated place to sip something long and strong on a hot summer's night.
