The Beresford Hotel

Good Food hatGood Food hat16.5/20

The youngish vibe here won't be for everyone but it's hard to fault the finesse of the food. The Beresford's classy terrarium-like decor is as green as the gluten-free, vegetarian-friendly menu (featuring organic spelt salads). The Italian trattoria food is plate-lickingly good, from the marinated olives through to the vanilla bean panna cotta with salt caramel. House-made pastas and pizzas are a hit, while the char-grilled swordfish with caperberry salsa is as good as in any fine restaurant. Finish off with a nightcap in the cobblestoned beer garden where a string of lanterns magically lights up the maples and magnolias.
