The thin-crust pizzas have made The Centennial a local legend, particularly the variations with chilli prawns and with lamb and eggplant. But the range of vegetarian-friendly bar snacks is also stunning - crisped artichoke hearts, soft-shell crab, zucchini fritters with yoghurt and mint dipping sauce, and fried whitebait with chilli aioli. The steel-topped tables may look hard-edged but the amiable waitresses actually know about the wine list and beer list, and if the place is not too busy, they'll let you order the luscious waffle with ice-cream and caramel sauce from the fine-dining menu.
