Contemporary

The place is rocking, the music's loud and 20-somethings are out in force. Quite an achievement for a cafe on the wrong side of the railway tracks, but the owners (veterans of Main Street Cafe in Mordialloc and Parkers Cafe in Parkdale) know their market. Big brekkies - maybe cheese kransky in a hot dog or avocado on rye with cherry tomatoes - fly out of the kitchen on weekends. There are bircher muesli specials, and Dimattina lightly roasted coffee hits the spot. At lunch there are Turkish-bread toasties and share-plates (try pork and veal meatballs) - also available after dark.
