What was once one of Sydney's earliest pubs is now a curiously successful hybrid of 1840s old-school charm and a (Sheraton) hotel bar's attention to detail. Dining here is mostly alfresco, lifted by great Bose sound bouncing off sandstone, and music videos projected on a wall. The Four Point hotel kitchen makes all the food - something you'll twig to when your lamb shanks arrive under a silver cloche! The reveal displays a tidily frenched shank with fall-apart flesh on mash so silky you'll want to marry it. Perfectly charred wagyu burgers, reasonably interesting wines and must-have sweet potato chips round out this CBD surprise.
