By day it's a funky cafe with a leafy courtyard; by night it's a Latin fusion bar with an intoxicating blend of cocktails and tapas. The menu, housed in vintage album covers, is a mix of typical cafe fare, burgers with-a-twist (The Babe - crisp pork belly, apple remoulade, lettuce, cheese), and the South American and dude food that's relentlessly sweeping Sydney. The 6Darker blend from Gravity Espresso has a chocolatey complexity and malty aftertaste in a caffe latte ($3.50), and we love the idea of homemade ginger beer. The Fern has a lot going for it, but could do with a few more sunny faces.
