The Globe Hotel

13/20

Contemporary$$

The first thing you'll notice inside this classic two-storey main street pub is the spectacular soaring pressed-metal ceiling. The second thing might be the happy hum of diners tucking into oversized meals, which come with whatever combination of chips/salad/vegetables you like. Chicken parmigiana is a speciality, with varieties such as Hawaiian, Mexican and outback, but the jury's still out on the 'special' parmy with its ham-tomato-mayo-seeded mustard topping. More satisfying is a 300-gram scotch fillet crowned with prawns, scallops and melted dill butter. A warm damper roll arrives with a trio of butters (plain, herb, sun-dried tomato) as a matter of course.
