From the pots of herbs outside to the rainbow-coloured tea cosies and sunny splashes of yellow decor, it's easy to see why queues form early and bloggers gush. And that's before you browse the menu: top-notch ingredients, breakfast eggs every which way, affordable lunchtime bistro classics. The Padre blend beans ($3.50) give a toffee aroma and toasty finish that pair perfectly with Jonesy's milk. Also welcome is the 'mini marche' selling French and Spanish groceries. The open kitchen at St Kilda's 'Fine Food Republic' uses prime produce in brekkie and lunch faves such as a brisket and mayo-mustard sandwich or grilled asparagus with poached eggs. Best taken with a St Ali coffee.
