The Imperial has emerged from three years of renovations as, well, everything a pub should be. Imagine taking the best of every country pub you've ever been in and putting it all together in the city. The mini pies on the tasting board (venison, lamb and beef) are crumbly pastry delights, while mains of expertly cooked grilled barramundi (with beurre blanc) and a small but beautifully formed petite eye fillet hit heights of perfection. The vegetables with both are full of flavour and crunch, ditto the chips, which we said we'd never finish. Service? Relaxed. Friendly. Exemplary. Community involvement? Exceptional. Well worth the wait.
