Sometimes you don't want the moon and the stars. Sometimes a spell by the river, a chilled glass of riesling, familiar faces and simple fare are more than enough. With Jetty, Jason Coats nails the formula for the sort of laid-back local diner you'll default to without thinking. From a perfectly sized and balanced breakfast of salmon gravlax with corn fritters, creme fraiche and poached eggs at the start of your day, through to a beautifully cooked fillet of jewfish or barra or whatever was fresh and interesting at the markets that day, Jetty is shorts and sandals dining. Hugo Boss shorts and Ralph Lauren sandals, perhaps. But old and comfy ones. The service can sometimes lose its way and you'll want to order dessert from the menu, not the cryogenic cake fridge, but there's a reason Bulimba locals seem to spend half their life here. A city blessed with subtropical climes and great produce is need of a laid-back, easy style of eating and drinking. Jetty delivers.
