The Kings Cross Hotel

Good Food hat15/20

Contemporary$$

Sitting in the heart of the Cross behind an imposing exterior, the Kings Cross Hotel houses six levels of pub goodness. Four of those serve food, including the beautiful roof garden. While finding a seat in the evening can be difficult, it's well worth the effort when the Tasmanian salmon is cooked to perfection. The steak and mushroom pot pie is a deliciously hearty evening meal on a moderate budget, though our buffalo wings were a surprising let-down. With a daily happy hour from 5 to 7pm and weekly dinner deals (around $12), the Kings Cross is a surprising jewel in the Cross's crown.
