The Light Brigade Hotel

This handsome art deco pub straddles a busy corner but when there are bums on seats in the roomy downstairs bar the roar of buses is happily drowned out. The food covers all pubby bases with salads, pizzas, burgers and steaks as well as share-y things for those so inclined. Chicken caesar salad is a hearty jumble of cos lettuce, grilled bird, generous bacon and a shower of finely chopped egg. Pizzas are good, too, if a little saggy bottomed. Enjoy the slow burn from the salami topped Diavola, then quench it with a beer.
