The Local Taphouse

With its mind-bending array of Australian craft beers and international heroes, two storeys of dark New Orleans-style surrounds and a nifty roof terrace, this is one fine beer hall. The food is sterling, too, if a splurge for under-$30 sticklers. The compact bevvy-friendly menu changes seasonally, while the amber nectar’s on a weekly roster. Dishes like onion-laden sausages and mash join the obligatory parma and more exotic pub favourites like a kick-ass lamb roghan josh. Fries and onion rings are beer-battered, natch, and a beef burger is beer-marinated: chin-chin, tuck in.
