The Premises plays the (coffee) field. Its house blend is Seven Seeds Espresso, a bold, chocolatey treat with candied-berry notes. Then there's a rotating roster of beaut single-origin beans from some of Melbourne's finest roasters, and pourover filter coffee (on ice, too). No doubt the cafe chooses its roasting suitors carefully because it knows it's quite a catch: polished cafe pedigree, cute village setting, handcrafted timber decor, and a menu that meanders joyfully from sweet French-toast brioche to slow-roasted pulled pork by way of inspired salads (cauliflower with haloumi and pomegranate, anyone?)
