The Premises

Contemporary$$

This V-shaped corner premises recently expanded to accommodate takeaway customers. It alleviates the crush of people coming for the gorgeous fitout of vintage cabinets and wooden school desks, and suberbly executed contemporary-cafe menu. French toast with baked apple and cinnamon-nut crumble, say, or poached eggs with green olive tapenade and Persian feta. At lunch, lamb salad is glammed up with freekeh, green raisins and spiced yoghurt. Pulled pork, a menu mainstay, is a knockout: remoulade, pickled turnip and bread accompany tender meat. Excellent Seven Seeds coffee is also on premises.
