The Star Hotel

Contemporary$$$

There are few hotels with a view as peaceful as that over the Nambucca River, but on a Saturday night live music brings hordes of noisy youth and the food brings everybody else. Nambucca River oysters are divine with a squeeze of lemon. A beef, mushroom and potato pie has tender chunks of meat in a delicious, rich sauce. The Star scotch fillet is a stand-out in both quality of cut and its treatment; it’s served with crunchy chips and afresh salad. Staff are unperturbed by the growing crowd and service doesn’t falter. But if you don’t book, there’s a good chance you won’t eat.
