The Tramway Hotel

Contemporary$$

The Tramway is a quaint, low-key boozer that reads its hipsterville constituency like a timetable, limits its range and always delivers. The uncluttered bar is effectively open plan but provides enough nookery for more intimate gatherings. Chicken-and-tarragon kofta balls charge the appetite, but everyone knows it’s all about the burgers here: a selection to entice all comers includes mighty shredded pork shoulder with coleslaw to the very Fitzroy North quinoa and hummus pattie with mild tomato relish. A couple of desserts grace the blackboard, perhaps cheesecake with a glistening topping of salted caramel.
