Libraries can be places of wonder and learning. Hence The Wine Library, where you can wonder and learn all you like. The low-lit front bar is a great spot to dangle your legs on a stool and peruse (and sample) your options. The choice of wine may be foremost, but there are plenty of small plates from the counter kitchen to help put your bottle or glass through its paces. The long, narrow dining room out back is adorned by a charcuterie display case, with promises of things to come. Black truffle and stracchino quesadilla is all aromatic truffle, gooey cheese and crisp tortilla. The flakiest of empanada pastry encases smoked paprika and pork on a bed of almond, mint and lime. Cabbage salad is sweet and sour, with white balsamic, mint and parmesan. If the coating on brandade fish fingers was a bit thick or the cheesecake finale too dense, all is soon forgiven with another wonderful glass of wine.
