Thousand Spices

Indian$$

Opposite Homebush station, Thousand Spices has long been a ticket to some of Sydney's most authentic sub-continental fare: from Goan fish curry or Tibetan-style chicken momos (like Chinese steamed dumplings), to nalli gosht (tender lamb shank cooked in spices). Thalis and parantha breads will send ex-pat Indians into raptures. Butter chicken, subtly creamy, sweet and spicy, also has quite the fan base: if it had its own Facebook page, keeping up with friend requests would be a full-time job. Dishes are smartly presented, and after a recent spruce-up so is the decor.
