This tricked-up former hat warehouse consistently wows with imaginative and downright delicious fare. Decisions start with coffee: espresso, Clover-brewed, pour-over, French press, cold-drip? Then there's the food, with temptations like crunchy twice-cooked French toast made posh with chestnut cream; a big breakfast with spinach, mushrooms and a juicy mini cheese kransky; steak sandwich dripping beetroot relish and aioli; and sublime choc cheesecake brownies. Watch other plates go past as you dine: dish envy is guaranteed. Long waiting lists prompted the TBF crew to expand next door, where you can buy coffee and soups, salads and baguettes to go.
