Threefold

Contemporary$$

There's a lovely old-world charm to Threefold, from its setting in 1850s-built Tavistock House to the house-baked bread and preserves and house-cured smoked trout. But there's nothing old-world about the menu or the Richmond-roasted espresso blend and single origins. Breakfast might be crunchy 'uber' muesli with chia seeds, buckwheat kernels and the bittersweet surprise of cacao. The lunch menu really lifts the bar: sandwiches or toasties chock with gourmet fillings and soul-pleasing salads such as quinoa with eggplant, cucumber, mint and apricot. A Clark Street Roasters single origin is the perfect, perky finish.
