Japanese$$

The sign outside says ‘eat here and live longer’ - it’s a bold claim from this cool little diner, but with oil-free gyoza and quality sashimi, they may have the goods to back it up. The menu teams classic Japanese with quirkier additions such as arabiki hotdogs with jalapenos. Fusion is a tricky thing to get right, so perhaps the risotto would be best left to the Italians, but a moreish wagyu beef curry more than makes up for it. An eclectic mix of furniture adds to the underground club feel, and if you’re keen to take in a Saturday jazz performance, be sure to book.
