Italian$$$
It's all about the risotto - and the view - at Tutto Bene. Inside, dark-wood furnishings and close-set tables create a homely, Italian feel, but the best seats are on the deck - a stunning vantage point looking across the Yarra River to Flinders Street Station. There are up to 11 risottos on offer, from a straightforward blend of mushrooms and herbs to a brilliantly orange butternut pumpkin variation, to the more creative wagyu rump and tomato sugo or gorgonzola, pear and chestnut honey, all presented elegantly in a purpose-built risotto plate. Entrees do double duty as drinks snacks and risotto torch-bearers - quenelle-shaped tubes of calamari come stuffed with the stuff, and impressively crunchy ricotta-filled zucchini flowers feature scattered crumbs of crisped rice for textural balance. Pastas and main courses are traditionally simple - slow-cooked lamb with chickpeas is just that, in a copper pan. Desserts are resolutely Italian - panna cotta, tiramisu and award-winning gelati.
