Twenty & Six Espresso

Contemporary$$

Originally envisaged as a design studio, this caff’s owners clearly know about aesthetics. Thankfully, there’s loads of substance to match the style. Try mini pork sliders almost too cute to eat, smoky with chipotle sauce, accompanied by a great carrot, beetroot and pepita salad; or ‘The Russian’ (house-cured salmon tartare, poached free-rangers, cress, and dill creme fraiche). Top coffee by Seven Seeds (with special guests) completes the picture - team it with a tennis-ball-sized ginger ball sandwiched together with toffee icing. The courtyard with kitchen garden entices in summer; in cooler climes, bunker down and watch the world go by.
