Twisted Noodle Bar

Asian

The heat is on in Chinatown. Once the domain of delicate Cantonese cooking, this place is now ruled by chilli, or in the case of Yunanese, spice and tang. Under the Chinese lanterns (on the newer side of Goulburn), this thoroughly modern diner is adorned with cute outdoor umbrellas, a pop music soundtrack and drinks in what look like jam jars with handles. A pick 'n' mix menu offers a series of sides - crushed cucumber with soy and sesame, deep-fried squid, tripe with peanut sauce - plus generously proportioned noodle soups, ordered by heat and sourness indicators (small, medium, large spicy). Some even come with fried chicken wings and Chinese sausage on the side. Great fun.
