Two Bob

The name is a nod to the former bank building in which this light, bright cafe with soaring ceilings has nurtured a strong, local following. Contemporary cafe dishes are considered and complex, composed of multiple elements. Among the all-day breakfasts are corn-and-coriander fritters with lashings of avocado, feta and tomato, a herb salad and harissa. Fluffy buttermilk hotcakes come with fruit compote and gingerbread crumbs. Lunch, perhaps, an open souvlaki with lamb shoulder and creamy tzatziki dressing, or an ample barbecued beef roll with coleslaw. The coffee is Supreme, it’s balanced and consistent; you’ll be happy depositing at least two bob here.
