This boho bolthole nestles alongside the glorious Forum Theatre and is a labour of love for genial owner Leo Torres, who makes all the food (from sausage rolls to triple-choc muffins) in one of Melbourne's tiniest kitchens. The mezzanine level is a grungy mishmash of furniture where city-workers-turned-loyal-regulars can escape and enjoy fragrant, slow-cooked lamb or a super-chunky chicken curry roti wrap. Alongside such big flavours, a Genovese espresso ($3) is suitably punchy and full-bodied. Atmosphere is at its best on weekday mornings and lunchtimes.
