United Arab Eatery

Middle Eastern$$

Squeeze into one of the handful of tables or a retro booth-for-two in this cosy Middle Eastern eatery for an aromatic meal. Start off sharing warm, pillowy flatbread and dips: a smoky, moreish baba ghanoush and bright, zingy beetroot; or the fatteh, a lick-the-plate-clean dish of labna, chickpeas, pinenuts and crisp pita pieces with lashings of nutmeg-brown butter. Orange-and-cinnamon slow-roasted lamb ribs could be stickier and spicier, but a goat’s cheese pudding with watercress and Iranian fig salad is a winner. Check the blackboard for seasonal specials and desserts such as Persian love cake or orange-syrup-soaked Arabian doughnuts.
