Walsh's Hotel

14/20

Contemporary$$

Walsh's was the first building in Queanbeyan to have electricity and a telephone, hence the 001 on the end of the phone number. But there's nothing old-fashioned about the menu at this homely bistro, with its imaginative flavour combinations and contemporary flair. Although the menu has slimmed down over the past year, there's still a good choice of juicy steaks in different cuts, right up to a whopping one-kilo T-bone. As well as a solid list of bistro favourites such as chicken parmigiana, veal schnitzel and sausages 'n' mash, the blackboard offers seafood specials and dishes that make creative use of seasonal produce.
