The newly renovated Woolwich Pier is all sleek lines, blondwood floors and glass walls downstairs, with old-world colonial charm upstairs, giving on to one of the best views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline.

The food is not too shabby either, with the likes of confit duck, pork belly, crab linguine and vegetable millefeuille. The usual hamburger is joined by an excellent gourmet selection of sliders.

Prices aren’t cheap, but there’s a different $12.50 special every Monday to Thursday.

With high teas and scones and clotted cream on the menu, daytime might be best to enjoy the views from this suburban gem.

  • This is definitely the place to go, big menu full of delicious food and the staff were awesome. the hardest thing about the hotel is selecting what meal to have as they all sound so good.

    • I'm guessing that Justin work there! Sounds over the top for an overpriced , self-service pub meal.

  • " Prices aren't cheap ". You're not kidding. At $24 for bangers and mash or $20 for a burger and chips I'll pass.

  • What rubbish. Don't you use independent reviewers?
Food is typical pub food, certainly no better. Service is crap.
we recently watched our meals sit on the counter for 20 minutes before being brought to us. During this time the manager came over to inquire what we had ordered.
Unfortunately its heyday was in the 70's with Jan and Trevor (recently deceased).
After going there for over 30 years, we are unlikely to go back.
there is too much competition these days to put up with terrible service.

  • Pretty good, and we still go there regularly for work lunches, but the menu is a shadow of its old self. They've cut out a lot of the pub classics and now function as a psuedo-restaurant with pretensions. Some of their food is good, and their burger is alright, but it's a shame how much better it used to be compared to the boring menu it has now.

  • ANDY, I'm finding a lot of local pubs (I live in the general area of Woolwich) are serving much less quality food that Woolwich Pier but charging restaurant prices. I think the food at Woolwich is excellent and good value.
