Yellow Bird

Mexican$$

It can be hard to be heard at the Bird, a welcoming diner-meets-grunge-rock bar, with often-blaring music. But the place is almost always open, and the menu covers breakfast through to beer snacks. A ‘death benedict’ is a brekkie highlight, with bacon, hash browns and poached eggs poured with hollandaise. Mains include a hefty sized chicken caesar salad; zingy bean and coriander quesadillas; and a feisty chilli burger with jalapenos, red onion, tasty cheese, bacon and chutney. Buffalo wings are moreish, and so is the well-priced beer - try getting out of that loop sober. Laid-back staff keep the mixed crowd chirpy.
