Young Bloods Diner

Contemporary$$

When the Rose Street Artists’ Market turned 10, the owners celebrated by gifting locals a cafe where sunlight streams on to yellow tiles, and a sheltered rooftop provides a fresh Fitzroy perspective. Coffee is roasted in-house, beer is boutique, and the wine list short but impressive. Young Bloods even has a forager from National Parks Victoria deliver ingredients weekly. Coddled eggs are the go-to for breakfast; salads such as beetroot with brisket, punchy horseradish and walnuts are above par; and heartier dishes such as steak sandwich battle it out for stomach space with fragrant desserts such as sweet and silky pumpkin brulee.
