With all the can-do attitude of the Two Before Ten guys, they seemed like good partners for a Canberra Times truffle dinner, which Food and Wine is holding on Tuesday, August 13, at the 10 Yards pop up. We will be giving away seats at this event next week. Unfortunately, there were some technical problems with the Food and Wine email on Wednesday, July 31, so if you entered, please try again once we reopen entries to make sure your entry counts.

We’ve got a wine angle, too – Food and Wine’s reviewer Chris Shanahan has chosen some international matches to lesser-known varieties from the Canberra district – and he runs through the matches in his story on the facing page. Shanahan will speak about the wines on the night, and columnist Bryan Martin, whose sangiovese will be served alongside a sangiovese from the home of the grape, Chianti, will also speak.

The food will be on share plates, and chef Adam Bantock, pictured, has put together a menu as follows: truffled mushroom cappuccino; pumpkin and goat curd ravioli with sage and amaretti; spatchcock with cauliflower, hazelnuts, raisins and truffled honey; and chocolate parfait with poached pear and truffle mousse, with most of the ingredients sourced from close by.
