The Yellow House, on Macleay Street, Potts Point, was famous in the 1970s for its artist ''happenings''. In recent times, it is better known as a half-risen souffle in restaurant circles.

There's no doubt it has had some serious Sydney kitchen talent associated with it, yet hasn't risen to the heights you'd expect given the posse of chefs with credentials to pass through its doors.

Earlier this year, we flagged that the team from Bentley Restaurant & Bar would relocate to the city and open a second venue at Potts Point following their success with Monopole. They finally signed off last week to open at the Yellow House.

Word on the strip is it is a ripper of a deal, with little upfront cost and a kitchen already kitted with pots and pans.

Designer Pascale Gomes-McNabb will put her hand to the design styling, the food inspired by the French neo-bistro movement, and the name, perhaps unsurprisingly, is Yellow. It opens in mid-September.
