A new kitchen by Mike McEnearney tipped for CBD

Kitchen by Mike put Rosebery on the food map, now Mike McEnearney has the CBD in his sights.

Word on the city sidewalks is the new restaurant will open mid year.

McEnearney refused to comment on any expansion plans, but an O'Connell Street site is believed to be the intended location.

McEnearney is no stranger to city clientele, his CV including a fruitful stint as head chef at Neil Perry's Rockpool some years back.

The arrival of the owner-chef of the pioneering Kitchen by Mike would be big news, even at the north end of the city where big-name arrivals have become commonplace in recent years.

While there would be no change at Rosebery, the rumour mill has it thecity venue could be quite different.
